Meet Shane & Kathy Ferguson

We’re Shane and Kathy Ferguson, and together we’ve built SKF Home Services on a foundation of family, hard work, and creativity. My journey started at 12 years old, working alongside my dad during summer breaks. What began as a summer hobby grew into a lifelong trade, built on skill, reliability, and a love for helping people transform their homes. Kathy now works alongside me, bringing organization, care, and dedication to the business, making sure our customers feel supported every step of the way.

A Family Tradition Since the 1980s

SKF Home Services began with my father in the 1980s as a small family business. Over the years, we’ve carried forward his values of quality craftsmanship, reliability, and treating every customer like family. From project planning and framing to electrical, plumbing, drywall, cabinetry, kitchen remodels, decks, railings, porches, media walls, windows, doors, and garage doors—if it’s part of your home, garage, or outbuilding, we’ve worked on it.

Professional Experience

I had the privilege of serving as a General Contractor for Lowe’s in Athens, specializing in kitchen and bath renovations. That experience allowed me to manage large projects, coordinate trades, and ensure homeowners received the highest standard of work.

Now Serving Zanesville and Surrounding Communities

After getting married, we relocated to Zanesville, Ohio. Together, we’re excited to continue the family tradition here, building lifelong relationships with customers throughout Zanesville, Dresden, Nashport, Frazeysburg, Adamsville, Cambridge, Philo, Newark, Heath, and beyond.

Custom Work & Creativity

Beyond the basics, I have a passion for custom woodworking and creative, one-of-a-kind projects. I especially enjoy trying new things and finding unique solutions that bring personality and character into a home. Kathy’s eye for detail and support behind the scenes help make each project smooth and successful.
